Busan · Cliffs, forest & open sea

Taejongdae Park & Danubi Train

A dramatic Yeongdo headland where pine-covered cliffs meet the open sea. Taejongdae is best treated as a half-day of slow coastal walking, with the Danubi circulation train as a useful option when it is operating.

A considerate tip

“Plan for the park first and the train second. Danubi usually has a regular Monday closure and can stop in rain or severe weather; the operator may also issue temporary service notices. Check the official page on the morning of your visit, then choose the train only if it is shown as running. Wear shoes with grip for the slopes and allow time for the walk back from any viewpoint.”

Hours
Park access, train ticketing, seasonal hours, and any temporary train suspension can change. Visit Busan lists regular Monday closure and weather-related cancellations for Danubi; confirm the official status before leaving.
Getting there
From Nampo Station (Metro Line 1), take Exit 8 and transfer to Bus 8, 17, 30, 88, or 186. Get off at the Taejongdae Park / Taejongdae Hot Springs stop, then walk to the main gate and tourist information area. The Danubi ticket booth is about a five-minute walk uphill from there, so do not plan a taxi drop-off at a later scenic stop.

How to plan Taejongdae when the Danubi Train may not run

The Danubi Train links viewpoints around Taejongdae, but Visit Busan lists Mondays and rainy or inclement weather as regular no-service conditions. Plan the visit as a park walk first, then treat the train as an option only after you confirm it is running that day.

Take a Taejongdae-bound bus from Nampo Station Exit 8 and check the seasonal ticketing end time before setting out. If the train is not operating, consider whether the hills and stairs suit your group, shorten the walking loop if needed, and keep the next stop flexible until the official status is clear.
