Yeosu · Sunrise & stone paths

Hyangiram Hermitage

A seaside hermitage at the far end of Dolsan Island, where granite passages, steep stone steps, and wide South Sea horizons make sunrise feel especially close.

A considerate tip

“This is a real climb, not a flat viewpoint: wear shoes with grip, allow extra time for the stone steps and narrow rock passage, and skip the climb if the ground is wet or you are unsteady on stairs.”

Getting there
Bus 111 serves the Impo (Hyangiram) stop from Yeosu, but departures vary. A taxi is the simplest option after choosing your rail arrival: Yeosu-Expo Station (여수엑스포역) and Yeocheon Station (여천역) are different stations, so confirm the final stop on your ticket and route in a map app.

Plan for the steps and rock passages before sunrise

Hyangiram sits above the coast, and the final approach is not a level stroll: expect steep steps and narrow passages between rocks. If stairs or slippery ground are a concern, do not force the climb for a sunrise view.

For sunrise, check access notices and transport as well as the sunrise time. Yeosu-Expo and Yeocheon are different stations; confirm your ticketed station and plan a taxi if an early bus does not fit.
